Late posting, but I went to the peak district to see the Aurora a
couple of weeks ago. For the first hour, it was diffuse and looked a
bit like thin high cloud. Then, at 11, it really got going, with bold
streaks of light radiating out from Ursa Major (photo of that by
Justin). To me, it was all grey and white light; the photos are far
more vibrant.
